Idris Emen

With over 15 years of photography experience, my journey began at Istanbul University, where I studied photography as part of my Journalism degree.

I then stepped into the fast-paced world of photojournalism, spending 13 years working for national newspapers in Turkey. During that time, my work took me to the front lines of some of the world’s most challenging events.

I’ve documented wars, natural disasters, and large-scale migrations across regions including in Ukraine, Syria, Bangladesh, Uganda, Pakistan, and Iraq.

These experiences shaped not only my storytelling skills but also my understanding of the power of an image to bear witness, evoke emotion, and spark change.

Today, I bring that same dedication and visual sensitivity to my freelance photography in the UK.

I now work with individuals, small businesses, charitable organisations and political candidates specialising in:

  • Portraits

  • Professional Headshots

  • Campaign & Branding Photography

  • Food Photography

  • Events

  • Festivals

  • Parties and Receptions

Whether I’m capturing a quiet moment between individuals or the vibrant energy of a crowded celebration, my goal is always the same: to create images that feel authentic, compelling, and deeply human.
